How are FDA-approved GLP-1 pens stored, according to their labels?

Short answer · as of 2026-10-06

Both labels say to refrigerate unopened product at 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 C), to protect it from light and heat, and never to use it if it has been frozen. They then allow limited time out of the refrigerator, and the allowed time and temperature differ by product and by pen, vial or syringe. These are the numbers on the labels we read, which change over time. The label for your own product is the authority, and nothing here applies to other peptides.

What this does not tell you

  • Compounded versions are not covered by these labels. Their storage and beyond-use dates are set by the dispensing pharmacy.
  • Research-use products have no label of this kind, so we do not give storage guidance for them.
  • Labeling is revised. If the figures here differ from the current label, the label governs.
